Microsoft Security Licences

Microsoft software has dominated the world of business information systems for some time now. Most large organisations have comprehensive Enterprise Agreements that include a wide range of packages and functionality. It is often the case that these licence agreements include many unused security offerings as standard. All too often organisations buy other vendors' products to perform a function for which they already have a licence from Microsoft. commissum can help you avoid these unnecessary costs.

Many organisations have an Enterprise CAL (Client Access License) suite, including many public sector organisations that have bought the suite through departmental purchasing agreements. A surprisingly high proportion of these organisations have a large set of security-related licences that rarely if ever get used.

Why is this? The answer is simple: it requires significant lateral thinking to use these licences to their fullest extent. Indeed, there are many Microsoft employees who, although aware that such licences are covered by the CAL suite, have no real understanding of how they can be used to provide a robust, scalable and secure system.

Many IT professionals are not aware that some of the Government's most sensitive information uses off-the-shelf Microsoft licences to control access; nor that data can have a self-defined "end of life" time after which it cannot be read.

commissum has developed a number of bespoke services which help organisations to ensure that their security foundations are robust and fit for purpose. These bespoke services also pinpoint areas where better use of what you have already can reduce expenditure on point controls. They can also lead to greater cohesion in your risk mitigation, budget savings, and a lower total cost of ownership.

Approach

commissum can help you squeeze every last drop of cost-effectiveness out of your existing Microsoft security licences, thus avoiding the need for further expenditure. It is only because commissum work closely with the innovative incubation team, where the latest developments are implemented, that we can deliver such projects.
